Static Experimental Study on New Arc Multi-Tendon CFRP Cable Anchorage System

CFRP has the potential to replace steel cables in large-span cable-stayed bridges due its high strength and lightweight material properties. However, weak lateral force performance of creates challenge anchoring. This study introduces a new inner cone + arc straight cylinder bond-type anchorage system optimize tendons’ state. Experimental finite element analyses verified anchoring system’s performance. In static load tensile tests, six groups seven tendon systems with different sleeve grooves were used failure mode load–strain variation law. The difference mechanical properties between traditional is evaluated analysis. results indicate that can lower stress concentration zone enhance groove design effectively increase efficiency, where depth proportional efficiency spacing inversely efficiency. magnitude inhomogeneity multi-tendon during tensioning beginning conditions size. When wall becomes more abrasive, heterogeneity reduces. tests analysis show may improve distribution engineering practice, it be utilized as dependable system.
